Steamer broke at 6 months, seller says only 3 months guarantee

I originally rated this at five stars, I LOVED IT…but six months on it just died, halfway through cleaning my kitchen floor. Its been used On average once or twice a week, on a medium sized kitchen floor. there’s just husband and me here most of the while, no dogs, no cats and the grandkids visit every couple of weeks, so its not had lots of dirt aNd grime to contend with. Having contacted the seller I’m astonished that their reply states they only give THREE MONTHS GUARANTEE ! That doesn’t inspire confidence in a product If the sellers think it won’t last longer than a few weeks. Needless to say my rating has been amended from five to one star.

I’ve asked seller where the three month period is stated as I can’t find it on the description – one year is the usual. I know there are legal remedies but I’ve better things to do with my time than chase up for such a small amount. I’m pretty annoyed though at the weasel wording – if it had stated clearly only 3 months warranty then I’d have chosen another make.

Edit: after some back and forth correspondence they have agreed ” as a goodwill gesture” to refund my money. I’d have been happy with a discount off a replacement as I”ve used it six months. Oddly I discovered I still have the box which states a full 12 months warranty……

I’ve ordered another steamer – a different one though 😉

About jeanniezelos

I'm an avid reader, love my kindle and I have my head in a novel for hours daily : ) Mum used to say I'd read toilet paper if it was printed- it wasn't, so i had to contend myself with the back and sides of the cereal packets. I've always Needed to read and we had few books when i was a child hence my penchant for reading anything including adverts then... I review mainly contemporary, erotic and paranormal romance books though dystopian and urban fantasy also appeal. I'm currently rated around the 300 mark on amazon.co.uk for my reviews. I try to keep them structured and to say what I do and don't like about a book so other readers can use my review as a guide to whether they may enjoy the book.

update – in response to my email they’ve simply re-iterated the three month warranty statement without telling me WHERe in the description I can find it. I’ve asked again…

and after my asking again for where the three month is listed they’ve offered a refund as a goodwill gesture. I still can’t see where it says a 3 month guarantee and have suggested they make it clear somewhere on the listing. Its a shame as it was an excellent device when it was working but just died completely ,midway through cleaning my floor 😦 Ah well, have to search out a new one tomorrow. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
