Bike Bell and Compass, Old Fashioned Bike Bell.

That heading just popped in my inbox, made me think of Bell, Book and Candle…..

This bell clamps onto bike handle bars or wheelchair, that’s where mine is going! I’d really like on of those loud Air horns….then when people step in front of me as I’m trying to see something, or push past me in a hurry, or knock into me with shopping basket or trolleys I could really blast them. Sadly the kids would be horribly embarrassed so we’ll stick to just politely saying loudly Excuse Me, and hoping for an apology. Sometimes there’s one, often there isn’t *shrug*

So, clamped to your handlebars, all you need to do is extend thumb/finger depends on which way round you put it and ping it. This one pings downward as opposed to sideways and I found it harder to ring it several times in succession so the noise isn’t that loud. Fine for other cyclists or the odd pedestrian though. Its got a Compass on the top which would be really useful except that though its in a liquid, designed I guess to protect it, mine is bent a little… thus North isn’t where it should be. Oops 😉 The bell part is perfect, basic but adequate, but the compass needs working on IMO and that’s why I’ve deducted 2 stars.
The bell part is simple, easy to use. Sometimes the old fashioned way is still among the best

Stars: Three

This bell clamps onto bike handlebars same as the previous one

So, clamped to your handlebars, all you need to do is extend thumb/finger depends on which way round you put it and ping it. Its not loud on a single ring, but it can be rung quickly in succession and that will get some notice! Might make your own ears rings for a bit too….

Its simple, easy to use. Sometimes the old fashioned way is still among the best

Stars: Five.

About jeanniezelos

I'm an avid reader, love my kindle and I have my head in a novel for hours daily : ) Mum used to say I'd read toilet paper if it was printed- it wasn't, so i had to contend myself with the back and sides of the cereal packets. I've always Needed to read and we had few books when i was a child hence my penchant for reading anything including adverts then... I review mainly contemporary, erotic and paranormal romance books though dystopian and urban fantasy also appeal. I'm currently rated around the 300 mark on amazon.co.uk for my reviews. I try to keep them structured and to say what I do and don't like about a book so other readers can use my review as a guide to whether they may enjoy the book.
