CUH 990W Professional Stainless Steel Whole Fruit Vegetable Juicer Juice Extractor
This arrived very well packaged in a sturdy cardboard box, with each part inside securely protected.
I’ve never used an electric juicer so was interested to see how well it performed. There did seem to be a lot of parts but it was easy to assemble and though there were instructions its kind of self explanatory with two settings for ( I guessed) different speeds. We’ve lots of apple trees and a horse who adores them – but I sneaked a few out and put this to the test. I cut them in half, could have added them whole as they were small but get more in one go by cutting them and it takes just seconds. No peeling or anything, just wash and go. Then switched on to second setting and wow – within a few seconds I’d juice coming out of the jug and some very dry pulp in the container the other side. It divides juice and pulp very well. I’d used seven small apples and got one full glass of juice from it. I found everything fitted well together and there wasn’t any mess, though I note that others don’t agree.
The pros are that its incredibly efficient and quick, and the juice tastes so, so fresh, incomparable to cartons, even the pressed and chilled stuff, but the cons…it takes ages to clean all the bits. Everything comes apart easily but there’s so many parts. Jug and cover, pulp container, the grater bit with tiny holes, great for juice, not so for cleaning even with the little brush given. then there’s also the top part where you add the fruit and the plunger that pushes it down. It doesn’t say its dishwasher safe but I see no reason why it shouldn’t be and if you’ve got one ( we haven’t) maybe that part won’t bother you so much.
There are lots of health benefits claimed for juice and if you want to make your own with things not commercially available, or want to have the freshest juice possible its great. If you’re making lots for the whole family it’s great, but if like me you just want the occasional glass of fresh juice a simple hand press is easier..

Stars: Four, Five for the juice, three for the cleaning issues…
