Accutire MS-4021B Digital Tire Pressure Gauge with Rugged Gauge LCD Display 5-150 PSI
Tyre pressure is very important and yet something most people rarely check. I used to drive a van for work where we had to submit a monthly report of van condition including tyre pressure and that’s the only time I’ve ever done it regularly.
This device is very easy to use. Simply remove dust cap, insert device and push firmly until reading appears. You will hear a rush of air escaping, that’s inevitable but minimal. To our surprise all our car tyres were very low, something we wouldn’t have noticed, so as we have an air compressor we brought them up to recommended pressure.
The big issue for me with this device is it measures in bars not PSI, and its PSI I’m used to. Thats what’s lost it a star, as it mentions PSI in description and that was what I was expecting. It was pretty quick to run a vehicle check to find correct pressure ( Quik-fit have a great guide based on number plate) and then once I found the PSI rate I used an online converter to get bar rate. I’d just have preferred PSI to be the measure used on the device.
The display was clear to read, though in dim light it wouldn’t be so easy. Its a quick, easy to use device that every car owner should have. Wrong tyre pressure could lead to serious accidents and is easily preventable, and as we found its something that drivers can be unaware of.
I’m not certain, but I think I’ve read that correct air pressure also affects fuel consumption and that’s important from both an environmental aspect and financial.
