Blueberry Pet 20″/51cm Back Length Embrace Cold Weather Unisex Dog Jumper Fleece Hoodie

My daughter’s older dog Flash has always felt the cold, loves to go out but ends up shivering. He’s always been like that even as a puppy, so I though this would be perfect for him. He’s got the largest size one, but we’ve also had it on the younger dog Roxy.

Their type and measurements are Flash, male, lab x springer spaniel,  7 years old fully grown, neck 44cm, chest 79cm, length 72cm, weight 26kg. Roxy, female lab x Pomeranian, 2 year old nearly fully grown, Neck 38cm, Chest 64cm, Length 52cm neck to start of tail, weight 18kg. Might be useful to compare when sizing for your own pet. It fits both well but of course goes further along Roxy’s back and legs. Its probably better it doesn’t go quite as far back on flash him being a male dog….The first two photos are flash, with Roxy in the next four. You can see the difference in size and fit of the jumper between each dog.

Its incredibly soft and thick with a knitted outer and a lovely, soft fluffy liner. The liner is white (not for long!) but can be machine washed, so its not really an issue. There’s a handy hole at the neck on the back to attach a leash. Both dogs were happy to wear it – but they are used to being dressed up by the kids on occasion! Flash always has that “sad” face, its not because he didn’t like it. They showed no signs of discomfort, there’s no rough places or seams to rub and I think once he realises how it keeps him warm he’ll love wearing it. Youngest grandchild Brennan thinks it unfair Roxy doesn’t have one now.

I’ve had several collars and leashes from Blueberry and the quality is very good, with them being very hardwearing. This is the first jumper but I am sure it’ll be the same excellent quality as the other products.

Blueberry Pet 2cm M Multicolor Triangles Designer Black Neoprene Padded Dog Collar,Classic Designer Collars for Medium Dogs

Review from Jeannie’s Reviews on wordpress.com

My daughter’s dogs were the testers for these collars once more. Roxy is wearing this one in size medium, she’s a female lab x Pomeranian, 2 year old nearly fully grown, Neck 38cm, and weight 18kg.

This collar looks great on her. It’s made of a soft polyester webbing and nicely padded, has a soft neoprene rounded edging which will help stop any rubbing.   It’s fully washable, which with most dogs is an essential. With Flash and Roxy if there’s mud to be found they’ll be in it! It feels as though it will dry very quickly, useful if caught out in the rain when the smell of wet dog can last in a slow to dry collar such as the cotton or leather types. The previous blueberry products have certainly washed well and retain their shape and softness. The fit is very adjustable, Roxy has the medium collar, but adjusted to its fullest it did fit Flash who’s larger. These collars and harness to cover a wide range of sizes.

What we liked:

– the design, fun and unusual, a change from the basic solid collar collars.

-The fit covers a wide range of sizes, and doesn’t rub or pull coat hair. Both dogs have short hair but I feel this would be just as good for a long hair dog. They’ve both taken to wearing them comfortably, no rubbing trying to remove it which is excellent.

-The clips to connect are eco-friendly plastic, but strong and very simple to clip together. For people like myself with hand/finger issues for whom buckles present problems this type of clip is perfect. The clip for the lead is a sturdy metal one that won’t break easily.

I like that the name tag attachment is separate from the lead clip; too often they’re a combined function and the name tag gets caught/damaged when clipping the lead on. -Washable, so when they roll in the fox poo – every time they visit me it seems Flash finds some….its quick to wash it off and  dry the collars.- Even if your dogs don’t do things like that – and most dogs can find something smelly to roll in- collars still pick up grease from coats and dirt from everyday wear but a quick wash and these look great again.

Blueberry Pet Step-in 2.5cm L Vintage Tribal Pattern Padded Dog Harness in Extravagant Green, Ultra-Soft No Pull Neoprene Large

Review from Jeannie’s Reviews on wordpress.com

My daughter’s dogs were the testers once more. Flash was tester for this, he doesn’t pull quite as badly as Roxy but it can still be uncomfortable holding his lead. Roxy has had a blueberry harness since early autumn and its made a huge difference to her. Slip chains and other anti-pull devices were a limited success, but the harness was perfect. Whether its just that the chest pressure confuses her or makes it hard to pull I don’t know but with a small tug she’s back walking at the side.We hope the same will work for Flash.

Its made of a soft polyester webbing and nicely padded. It’s fully washable and feels as though it will dry very quickly, useful if caught out in the rain when the smell of wet dog can last in a slow to dry collar such as the cotton or leather types. The collars etc we’ve had for several months now are still wearing well and have had several washings. The fit is very adjustable and Flash has the large size one, at the smaller end of adjustment.  These collars and harness to cover a wide range of sizes. They fit really well, Roxy has been wearing the pink harness continuously without issues until recently, when a little hair began to be rubbed off. Taking it off when inside would prevent that.

The clips to connect are eco-friendly plastic, but strong and very simple to clip together. For people like myself with hand/finger issues for whom buckles present problems this type of clip is perfect. I like that the name tag attachment is separate from the lead clip, too often they’re a combined function and the name tag gets caught/damaged when clipping the lead on. The two metal rings for the lead on this are in the centre back of the dog, so easy to attach to lead.

Blueberry Pet Leads for Dogs 1.5 cm by 150 cm Vintage Tribal Pattern Padded Dog Lead in Extravagant Green, small

Daughters dogs Flash and Roxy were testers once more for this. Flash is a Lab x Spaniel and Roxy a smaller dog, Lab x Pomeranian. They’re both pretty enthusiastic about walks and need sturdy leashes.

This lead is perfect for walks being a long lead of 150cm, and comes in two colours and three widths making it suitable for all size dogs. We’ve the small one in green. The length means as a training lead where you use both hands there’s plenty of “give” and you’re not dragging the poor dog.  It matches the tribal print collars, which makes it a bit of fun and the zany colours brighten up gloomy winter days.

Practical side: Its a sturdy construction as with other blueberry products, and washes and dries easily. The fabric is robust, doesn’t rub the dog and there’s extra padding on the handle. The clip is a solid metal one, anti swivel at one end and a pull back fastening at the other and it’s not flimsy and likely to break as we have seen on some cheaper leads.

About jeanniezelos

I'm an avid reader, love my kindle and I have my head in a novel for hours daily : ) Mum used to say I'd read toilet paper if it was printed- it wasn't, so i had to contend myself with the back and sides of the cereal packets. I've always Needed to read and we had few books when i was a child hence my penchant for reading anything including adverts then... I review mainly contemporary, erotic and paranormal romance books though dystopian and urban fantasy also appeal. I'm currently rated around the 300 mark on amazon.co.uk for my reviews. I try to keep them structured and to say what I do and don't like about a book so other readers can use my review as a guide to whether they may enjoy the book.
