Topsky and Othway Non-slip Environmental Big Bubble Soft Rubber Massage Baths
I’m an amputee, getting in the bath isn’t so bad, I have a special one with ledges, so its down to ledge one, then ledge two and finally into the bath. Getting out though – with only one leg that’s an adventure. ( Try it next time you want to get out of bath!) I try not to use oils or bath conditioners – I adore them but they make slip issues even worse. Him Indoors is happy to help but tends to hold on to parts that don’t actually help me get out of bath ;-). Then there’s the clever design, no handles to hold and which has taps placed right under that last ledge, one slip and…well, lets say OUCH certainly wouldn’t cover it. So I’ve been promising myself an anti slip mat for ages, but keep forgetting to order one. I was lucky enough to get these two for review. Both are the same apart from design so I’ve done a combined review.
They arrived rolled up, and I took the cream one upstairs ( yes, another 45 seconds on the stair lift reading a couple more pages from my kindle) and promptly unrolled into the bath. I gave it a wash over and rinse before actually using it. It adhered well to the bath, didn’t move at all once I was in, and provided an excellent gripping surface that helped when I wanted to get out. So simple and perfect to use, a product that does excatly what it should 😉 I rinsed it after use and stuck it on the tiled wall so underside could drain. I recall as a kid we had one but ours was left in the bath, and the underside used to get pretty grotty and smelly with stale water. Sticking it to walls if possible or even side of bath means the water can drain and it dries properly.
For anyone like me who needs help this is a godsend, and for everyone its still useful, either in bath or shower. They’re slippery areas and no doubt many people have falls that could be prevented with a mat like this.
