Well, what a bargain for crafters, all these for less than seven quid. I was astonished at the quality, thought for this price they’d be flimsy, lightweight and easily breakable but they’re not. They are solid, easy to grip, and each clearly stamped with sizing. I can crochet – barely…was taught by nan as a kid, she always had crochet or knitting on the go.  I’ve never taken to knitting, but enjoy the odd relaxation of crochet. This is great for teaching the grandkids too – crochet is easy to master the basics, and with YouTube vids now available to show more complex steps who knows what sort of hobby you could be instilling in a child.

The set comes complete with an aubergine leather effect zip up holder, with  slots for each hook and its a real bargain, perfect present for crafters.

Well, what a bargain for sewers, all these for less than eight quid.  My mum loved embroidery, and I can recall the threads being very expensive, given that she died in 1990 I’ve no idea what a skein from a traditional shop costs now, but here you can get 100 different coloured skeins of 100% cotton, each 8 meters in length and  6-strand thread. the colours are vibrant and have that slight sheen common to embroidery threads. Perfect for a gift. I’m planning on using thiese, some beads and the crochet hook set to make some beaded fringing for a knitted top I have.

I hate sewing – nan and mum adored it so maybe I was just force fed it and its a kind of aversion therapy…but even so inevitably things need mending, and we’ve never the right colour thread. Felt tips have coloured over thread for a temporary solution many times * blush* but now you can get this set for less than seven quid there’s no excuse.

You get 39 reels that are 200 yards long of strong polyester sewing thread in a range of colours to suit most requirements. I’m eyeing up the gold and silver to think what I could do with them! as my lovely but gone to soon friend Barbara would say – it’s my Bet Lynch tendencies coming out again. I do love a bit of sparkle. ( today I’m wearing a favourite black and light brown striped top with lots of gold thread through the brown.)

About jeanniezelos

I'm an avid reader, love my kindle and I have my head in a novel for hours daily : ) Mum used to say I'd read toilet paper if it was printed- it wasn't, so i had to contend myself with the back and sides of the cereal packets. I've always Needed to read and we had few books when i was a child hence my penchant for reading anything including adverts then... I review mainly contemporary, erotic and paranormal romance books though dystopian and urban fantasy also appeal. I'm currently rated around the 300 mark on for my reviews. I try to keep them structured and to say what I do and don't like about a book so other readers can use my review as a guide to whether they may enjoy the book.
