leads, collars, and blankets

Touchdog Durable Safe Adjustable Strong Soft Nylon Dog Collar and Lead Set ,Rope Lead with Comfortable Foamed Handle, Great For Walking Training, Medium ,Purple

Testers were
Flash, male, lab x springer spaniel,  7 years old fully grown, neck 44cm, chest 79cm, length 72cm, weight 26kg
Roxy, female lab x Pomeranian, 2 year old nearly fully grown, Neck 38cm, Chest 64cm, Length 52cm neck to start of tail, weight 18kg.

This is a real bargain price for a strong and comfortable set of harness and lead. The colours are very vibrant and the construction of the set is good, with the fabric feeling incredibly durable. I’ve some horse leads from a similar style rope, and if it can hold a 60 stone horse then its fine for the average dog….

Tester for this one was daughter’s dog Roxy, she’s very “terrier “ looking, small boned . She’s got the set in purple, size M. The set comes in five colours and three sizes. Each set – whether harness or collar ( I have both on trial) is fully adjustable and though the harness was for Roxy and fits well on the middle range of adjustment, we extended it and Flash tried it – fitted him well too. The main difference between sizes ( other than fit) was the plastic clip is bigger/stronger on the large size and the actual fabric thicker on the bigger sizes. I’ve shown a clip of both leads so you can see, however it feels a very strong, durable material and I can’t see it snapping.

Its easy to close, simple snap fasteners, plastic buckle type device to adjust size, and the harness has clip for lead at the back. We’ve found in the past these style of harness great for Roxy as she has a tendency to pull when on lead, and this just seems to make it harder for her. Anything that helps with that is good, its horrible returning from a walk with arms feeling as though they’re about to pop out of sockets! The handle on both these leads is really comfortable to hold, again with dogs that pull conventional leads leave hands with red, sore marks, this eliminates all that.

The only thing I don’t like is the label on both leads, its a tacky looking khaki piece, with logo stitched on and unfinished fraying edges. Personally I’d just cut it off, although looking at the positioning it could be covering where the ends of the lead join onto the body…the logo on the collar and harness is fine, that’s properly finished, neat and unobtrusive.

Tester for this one was daughter’s dog Flash, he’s very Lab looking, big boned. He’s got the set in black, size L. The set comes in five colours and three sizes. Each set – whether harness or collar ( I have both on trial) is fully adjustable and though the collar was for Flash and fits well on the middle range of adjustment, we made it smaller and Roxy tried it, it was a little large – she has a small head. The main difference between sizes ( other than fit) was the plastic clip is bigger/stronger on the large size and the actual fabric thicker on the bigger sizes. I’ve shown a clip of both leads so you can see, however it feels a very strong, durable material and I can’t see it snapping.

Its easy to close, simple snap fasteners, plastic buckle type device to adjust size, and the harness has clip for lead. Flash is pretty good on the lead but does sometimes pull and we found even then that the handle is really comfortable to hold, having a kind of expanded foam construction. With dogs that pull conventional leads leave hands with red, sore marks, this eliminates all that.

IntimaTe WM Heart Waterproof Non-slip Wear Resistant Pet Dog/ Cat Quilting Cover, Auto Back Seat Travel Protection

Testers were Flash, male, lab x springer spaniel,  7 years old fully grown, neck 44cm, chest 79cm, length 72cm, weight 26kg and Roxy, female lab x Pomeranian, 2 year old nearly fully grown, Neck 38cm, Chest 64cm, Length 52cm neck to start of tail, weight 18kg.

My initial thoughts were that this is a lot of money for a car cover. Daughter told me though that the cheaper ones are very thin, tear easily and let wet through onto the seats. There’s no chance of that happening here!

Its a very generous size, both dogs fitted on it comfortably, and the construction means water simply can’t get through to damage seats. Its a triple layer fabric which is comfortable, keeps pets dry and protects your car. Its so easy to use, simply slips over seat headrests to hold firmly in place. Of course if you dog travels in the boot area then slip it over the rear headrest and just let rest lay on floor. When you need to clean it just slip off and shake out. It doesn’t say anything about washing but I don’t see why it shouldn’t go in a washing machine on a cool setting. as it feels secure and doesn’t slip it will make pets feel more comfortable, covers that are slippery and slide around often make dogs insecure and fidgety.

I’ve tried to show the construction and the clips in closer detail in the photos.  From an initial sceptic I’m very impressed with the quality of this and if you take dogs to beach or muddy woods this is great for protecting your car, and keeping cleaning to a minimum.

DCCN Soft Cozy Warm Throw Travel Blanket with Portable Bag – Gray

Youngest grandson loves snuggling up in a blanket when he’s tired or watching TV and he adores all things yellow so this blanket in the yellow version was perfect for him.

Its a generous size at 100 x 50 cm, very practical for taking out or snuggling kids in.  Its beautifully soft, I and Brennan both love the feel of it, and has bound edges so it won’t fray. It comes in a neat grey cover, handy if you’re taking it out.

Its perfect for picnics, for days out when it gets chilly while sitting ( on the beach…why is it that even on the hottest days there’s a cool, chilly breeze comes off the sea??)It can be used as a cosy throw over furniture to protect it from kids and pets,  a spare blanket when you’ve visitors, even treat your pets to one. The dogs, Flash and Roxy,  certainly loved it!

It can be washed on a cool wash, so its practical too. I love the subtle pattern too, a kind of leaf and honeycomb effect. Colours are very gentle and soft not in-your-face harsh.

Its an excellent, well priced product, and will get much used in our home.

About jeanniezelos

I'm an avid reader, love my kindle and I have my head in a novel for hours daily : ) Mum used to say I'd read toilet paper if it was printed- it wasn't, so i had to contend myself with the back and sides of the cereal packets. I've always Needed to read and we had few books when i was a child hence my penchant for reading anything including adverts then... I review mainly contemporary, erotic and paranormal romance books though dystopian and urban fantasy also appeal. I'm currently rated around the 300 mark on amazon.co.uk for my reviews. I try to keep them structured and to say what I do and don't like about a book so other readers can use my review as a guide to whether they may enjoy the book.
