back packs for hiking and camping

40L Mil-Tec Military Army Patrol MOLLE Assault Pack Tactical Combat Rucksack Backpack Bag Laptop Backpack for 10 to 15.6 Inch Laptops

Excellent value hiking bag. This is made of a tough, water repellent material, (600D Oxford fabric) exactly what you need out hiking. Bags need to stand up to branches catching in the fabric, and a huge tear isn’t what you want. Likewise with the UK weather default setting being rain….it needs to be resistant if you aren’t to get soggy picnics and spare clothes.

Its got lots of pockets and compartments, good for keeping items separate and having essential like phone and keys quick to hand. Last thing you need as you return to car for instance in the pouring rain is to be fumbling in the main compartment among clothes and everything else to find keys.

The padded interior is great for laptops if you’re using it for that rather than camping etc. The straps are well padded and spread the weight evenly, and there are snap lock waist straps which help stop the pack from sliding, keeping it comfortably to use, something that’s important if you’re hiking long distances, or cycling. Its roomy enough to use as a weekend bag too if you’re just going for a casual country stay, and easier than dragging a suitcase around. It had lots of plastic D fittings for hanging a few extras such as rope etc on.

Overall I think this is a great laptop/weekend bag and great price for either of those purposes, but for serious camping trips you really need one with a few more extras. You get what you pay for and this is a no frills basic bag, but well made and sturdy enough to withstand some rough handling. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need, something basic but well constructed from excellent materials.

Stars: Five, excellent value rugsack

40L Military Army Assault Pack Tactical Combat Rucksacks Backpack Sport Rucksacks Camping Trekking Hiking Bag with 2.5L Water Bladder Hydration

Excellent value hiking bag. This is made of a tough, water repellent material, (600D polyester fabric) exactly what you need out hiking. Bags need to stand up to branches catching in the fabric, and a huge tear isn’t what you want. Likewise with the UK weather default setting being rain….it needs to be resistant if you aren’t to get soggy picnics and spare clothes.

I had to look up MOLLE _ had no idea but its Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment, and that makes sense. Acronyms, there are so many and its one I’d not heard of 😉 This bag lives up to the name, really seems capable of load carrying.

Its got plenty of different pockets and compartments, good for keeping items separate and having essentials like phone and keys quick to hand. Last thing you need as you return to car for instance in the pouring rain is to be fumbling in the main compartment among clothes and everything else to find keys.

The straps are well padded and spread the weight evenly, and there are snap lock waist straps which help stop the pack from sliding, keeping it comfortably to use, something that’s important if you’re hiking long distances, or cycling. There are lots of webbing straps so you can add extras as needed, spreading the weight to suit yourself. The self repairing zippers work – I opened one and though “damn, its broken” but just slide the zip bag and its fine again. I wish all zips were like that! For those that go hunting the silent zipper pulls are a boon.

The bladder. Well, I’m going to be a girl about that – I Do Not Want to drink out of one. Yuk. Just give me a plastic water bottle anytime 🙂 But I guess you guys are tougher and collect water out in the wilds, and use purifying tablets etc!! Kind of reminds me of when my brother and cousin used to go camping at weekends back in the sixties. The horrible boys used to take me eel fishing and then tell me I’d got to cut the heads off…..Horrible kids.

This pack is great for those that are serious about their camping trips.  Its got lots of extras that will be very useful. Its worth paying for well made and sturdy equipment that won’t ;let you down when you’re miles from anywhere.

60L 3 Day Assault Tactical Military Outdoor Sport Rucksacks Backpack Camping Trekking Hiking Bag Bundle

Excellent quality camping bag. This is made of a tough, water repellent material, (600D nylon fabric) exactly what you need out camping. Bags need to stand up to branches catching in the fabric, and a huge tear isn’t what you want. Likewise with the UK weather default setting being rain….it needs to be resistant if you aren’t to get soggy food and spare clothes.

Its got plenty of different pockets and compartments, good for keeping items separate and having essential like phone and keys quick to hand.I had to look up MOLLE – had no idea but its Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment, and that makes sense. Acronyms, there are so many and its one I’d not heard of 😉 This bag lives up to the name, really seems capable of load carrying, and you can leave the main bag behind while on scouting excursions and just take the bum bag ( hey here in UK fanny is something entirely different!) or the side packs. That’s energy saving, you don’t want to waste energy lugging round everything when you can just take what you need for an hour or two.

Its good to be able to access items quickly when its pouring with rain, so the extra small compartments for keys, phone and matches ect are useful.

About jeanniezelos

I'm an avid reader, love my kindle and I have my head in a novel for hours daily : ) Mum used to say I'd read toilet paper if it was printed- it wasn't, so i had to contend myself with the back and sides of the cereal packets. I've always Needed to read and we had few books when i was a child hence my penchant for reading anything including adverts then... I review mainly contemporary, erotic and paranormal romance books though dystopian and urban fantasy also appeal. I'm currently rated around the 300 mark on amazon.co.uk for my reviews. I try to keep them structured and to say what I do and don't like about a book so other readers can use my review as a guide to whether they may enjoy the book.
