Lady colour – I love you to the moon and back – Necklace for Women with Crystals from Swarovski – CRYSTAL HEART collections

hp1

Like most ladies I love jewellery, and this pretty pendant would make a great gift.
It comes in a pretty cream and gold box, with a soft cream inside that shows off the lovely blues perfectly.

Its on a twisted rope style chain, with an extra section at the end so the length can be adjusted for the wearers preference. I can’t see what metal is used, it just says Zinc Alloy, so I’ve no idea if its suitable for those with sensitive skins. Often jewellery is plated with gold or silver to help avoid those kind of issues but this doesn’t say, so if you ‘re sensitive contact sellers for clarifycation first.
The gem is the real heart of this – aannd that pun wasn’t intended! Its a beautiful, very large, rich blue heart, 3.2cmx2.4cm in size. The colour varies from a deep sapphire to a soft light cerulean, ever changing because of the way the crystal is cut. It really does catch the light and glitter.
The heart is set in a silver coloured metal with a heavily cut out back with the words “I love you to the moon and back” engraved across it. Flowing out from there are two bands that run partway over the front of the stone, and have tiny clear crystals set in them, ending in a star shape with a larger clear crystal in the centre.
The whole thing really catches the light well, and glitters wonderfully.
I was taking photos outside, and the sun was strong. It caught the light on this so much that I had to shade it to get clear photos!

Stars: Five, Its a really pretty pendant, suitable for all ages.

Lady colour – Infinity – Bracelet for Women with Crystals from Swarovski – PARIS VOGUE collections

Like most ladies I love jewellery, and this pretty bracelet would make a great gift.
It comes in a pretty cream and gold box, with a soft cream inside.

I can’t see if this is gold/silver plated, I suspect not but it does say the metal alloy used is Nickel free – like most people with metal sensitivity its the Nickel that irritates my skin and this was fine, though I only wore it for about 30 minutes.

It comes in two colours, rose gold and silver, and I have the rose gold version  – I love rose gold, definitely my favourite, its such a soft, subtle colour.
The bracelet is in three sections, joined with loops, and the centre one is the infinity symbol studded with clear  Swarovski  crystals. There are a further three clear crystals set in the two side section, and there’s the chain to extend at the back.
It has a lobster claw closer, which fits in whichever loop of the chain is most comfortable.
Its seven inches long but has a chain extender to add an extra two inches. You can see in one of the pics I’m wearing it, my wrist is six and a half inches, and the infinity symbol section goes right over the back of my wrist.

Stars: Five, Its a really pretty bracelet, the infinity symbol makes is a very contemporary gift.

Tonver Soulmate 925 Sterling Silver Blue Opal Love Heart Pendant Necklace 18 Inch Chain

Product Details

Like most ladies I love jewellery, and this pretty pendant would make a great gift.
It comes in a pretty tiffany blue box, with a blue bow, and a soft cream inside that shows off the lovely blues of the opals perfectly.

Its on a box style chain, eighteen inches long, with a lobster claw fastening. Its made of sterling sliver and marked 925. I found some info about testing silver on the web, (see below) and tested this – its not magnetic, which indicates it is what it says 🙂

The double hearts make this look very attractive. They’re made of silver too, and set with brilliant turquoise opals. I love opals, the way the seem to have fiery colours contained within, but I didn’t realise they came in different colours.
In fact searching for info on the web took me on a fascinating diversion – that happens a lot when I’m looking for info for reviews! I found they come in many colours, with black being the most valuable and also that 95% of the worlds opals come from Australia.
On a site called crystal-cure.com there’s this specifically about Blue opals
Australian Blue Opal:
This stone ranges in colour from blue-white to deep blue. It is said that this stone enhances communication skills, providing the user with the courage and freedom to speak at the right time and it helps stimulate connections between people.

The opals on this necklace have so many different  shades of rich, intense blues and vivid greens, they really glitter intensely and seem to change in the light, almost holographic looking. The reverse is plain silver.
The hearts are set so as to hang from a silver connector ( there’s bound to be a proper name but I don’t know it!) and one twists inside the other to join them and they hang very slightly offset,  which I think is very attractive The whole thing really catches the light well, looks amazing.
I was taking photos outside in the sun trying to show just how they change in the light, I’ve inclded a couple at the end in close-up.

From an ebay ref site:
Real 925 sterling silver jewellery consists of 92.5 per cent pure silver and the rest in some kind of alloy, typically copper. This is much different from silver plated, where a layer of silver is placed over another metal or alloy, and can be scraped off or tarnished easily.

There are a few steps you can take in ensuring that your sterling silver jewellery is the real thing.  The easiest test to do is to use a magnet. Attractive, shiny metals, such as silver, gold and platinum, are non-ferrous materials, meaning that they are not magnetic. Take a piece of “silver” jewellery and place it near a magnet; if it is attracted to it, then it is not sterling silver. It is stainless steel that is highly polished to look like silver.

Stars: Five, a beautiful gift

JewelryPalace Women 1.5ct Infinity Cubic Zirconia Anniversary Promise Wedding Band Engagement Ring Bridal Sets 925 Sterling Silver

r1

This set is incredibly attractive, and to be honest unless you’re a jeweller I reckon you wouldn’t know they weren’t real diamonds. Modern gems, Cubic Zircona, crystals and lab created stones are a far cry from the paste gems that used to make up the alternatives to expensive ones.
I lost my engagement ring a couple of years after we married, my daughter in law has just lost hers and her wedding band in the sea on holiday, apparently is happens a lot so why not buy a set like this and save your cash for other things.
Money is tight for most of us, so instead of spending a couple of thousand on rings, use it for a new car, towards the mortgage, things like that which are more beneficial.
A ring is a symbol, if you try to pretend to your soon to be wife these are real it’ll say you’re a cheapskate! But if you both discuss and agree then I think its a perfect way to get that symbol but not to go into debt over it.

So, the rings – they come in a pretty velvet drawstring pouch, though I think they’d have looked better in a box. Pouches are fine for some things, but some need a box for the full effect to be appreciated.
They’re in a wide range of sizes from H to V so will fit almost everyone. They’re made of sterling silver, marked 925, international symbol for silver, and that means most people with sensitive skin can wear them. Of course if you are allergic specifically to silver then you can’t, likewise if the werewolf/vampire legends are true that could be awkward 😉 If your girl thinks she’s one of them you’ve bigger issues though! The Rhodium plating means they’ll stay bright and shiny for a long time.

They match well together though aren’t an exact fit as some duos are. They both have a lovely pattern of loops, set with tiny gems and the engagement ring has a larger one set in the centre. They really do sparkle and catch the light, being multi faceted. You can see where the sunlight had refracted blue on one of my images – I took lots of pics trying to catch the light as the colours were incredible, but only managed this one.

Looking for more on how to test for silver or some other metal I found this,

Real 925 sterling silver jewelry consists of 92.5 percent pure silver and the rest in some kind of alloy, typically copper. This is much different from silver plated, where a layer of silver is placed over another metal or alloy, and can be scraped off or tarnished easily.

Men’s Belt Fine Leather Waistband 1.5″ Wide Fashion Waist Rotated Buckle (Trimmed to fit)

lb2

My nana had this saying “cheap always comes dear in the end” – she meant how you end up spending more on replacements and repairs than you would if you’d bought something of quality.
Leather is one of those materials that really show the difference. As a horse-rider/owner I’m used to seeing good quality leather on saddles, and how cheaper materials soon look shabby, stretch out of shape and discolour. Cheap leather has an awful smell to it often too!

This belt comes in an attractive box, with a printed paper carrier bag inside to put the belt in. Really makes it look a special gift.
When you take out the belt you’ll see just how supple the leather is, that its finished on both sides and even the edges. Cheaper leather belts have unfinished edges and back, which rub on clothes and can damages them – see nan’s motto!
It’s plain,no embossing, no cut outs or tooling, as is the buckle – just smooth, soft leaher and simple, unadorned metal, and sometimes that simplicity is what’s best, it lets the quality of the materials and workmanship show through.

Its really soft and bends easily several times round my hand – see images. Its long too – a massive 49 inches from the part that connects buckle to the end.
My late husband always had issues getting a belt long enough, this would have been perfect for him. In fact when we first met – I was 16 and he was 21 – he had a belt very, very similar to this which he wore constantly, and it lasted for many years. He would love this.
Even the holes are neatly finished, and if you need extra there’s a handy hole punch included. I have one for the horse gear but if you don’t this is a great help.

It comes in two colours, black and brown, both with the gold coloured buckle.
The buckle is heavy, matches the quality of the leather and feels very robust. Its smooth, polished to a dull, matt kind of shine, which I like. The info says its copper with a silver plate to prevent tarnish – not sure exactly how that works, how it keeps the gold colour and not the silver, but given the quality of the rest I’ll take those words on trust.
The belt is fixed firmly to the buckle, again another weak point in cheaper belts, and there’s a fixed loop to hold any excess leather. If you’re really small waisted there are instructions on how to cut off the excess and fix back at the buckle end, and tools provided to do this. Don’t cut off excess at the end with holes, it just spoils the look and the finishing of it.

Stars: Five, a simple, excellent quality belt.

About jeanniezelos

I'm an avid reader, love my kindle and I have my head in a novel for hours daily : ) Mum used to say I'd read toilet paper if it was printed- it wasn't, so i had to contend myself with the back and sides of the cereal packets. I've always Needed to read and we had few books when i was a child hence my penchant for reading anything including adverts then... I review mainly contemporary, erotic and paranormal romance books though dystopian and urban fantasy also appeal. I'm currently rated around the 300 mark on amazon.co.uk for my reviews. I try to keep them structured and to say what I do and don't like about a book so other readers can use my review as a guide to whether they may enjoy the book.
