Swear Words Colouring Book: Hilarious (and Disturbing) Adult Colouring Books

Swear Words Colouring Book: Hilarious (and Disturbing) Adult Colouring Books

I’ve not actually seen this book “in the flesh” but it caught my eye when I was browsing and I thought what a fun gift for someone who needs cheering up. forget grapes when visiting a friend in hospital, make them laugh with this book and some coloured pens/pencils instead!

Adult colouring books have become quite a trend recently, ( I have one my daughter bought me and its kind of relaxing, just colouring in the pre-drawn lines, letting thoughts wander), so take advantage and give one that’s a bit different, that has some humour too.

Of course someone with sore throat/not allowed to speak could use them as flash cards too when feeling especially frustrated 😉 Think of the stress reliever that could be….i.e. Doc comes in, smiling smugly and pronounces in that way some of them have – “how are we feeling today then Jeannie? A wee bit sore perhaps?” and then patient could hold up relevant flash card, pretending to show what they’ve been doing, but really saying S**t or  F**k Off or something 😉

3D Printing Pen

3D Printing Pen, DIKI Upgrade Intelligent 3D Stereoscopic Printer Pen with Safety Holder, LED Screen and Free PLA Filament for Arts, Crafts, Scribbler Printing,Drawing,Dooling, Modeling and Writing (Black)

So this looked fun, I’ve had a couple of these for review last two months, having never used one before then, never even seen one though I have seen 3D printers online. Its still hard to get my head around that, keep thinking of paper printers!
There are two types of filament, PLA which this one uses and one that I think is called ABS. PLA seems to be the choice for hobbyists, having less smell, melted plastic can get a bit pongy but this was fine. I’ve not tried the other type of filament yet but there’s lots of info online.

Anyway, I’m not great at tech but opened the box, followed instructions and…nothing happened, light didn’t move from flashing red. Tried several times, then emailed sellers as clearly this one was damaged.
It happens and I feel its how sellers respond that makes it important, not so much that a product doesn’t work.
I had to send two emails, and it did take over a week for sellers to get back to me, but from then on everything was fine, a replacement sent and that worked as it should.
A quicker response would have been appreciated, I was about to add a one star review…..

So simply plug in, press switch as per instructions and go. I soon had a little 3D cobweb type pattern made ( see pics).
This pen has one button that controls all, heating, feeding in filament and retracting filament. Another one I tried had separate buttons for heating and feeding/retracting, and offered different speeds, and I think that’s better for control. However that was over £70 so you get what you pay for and unless you’re seriously in to 3D printing you may not want to spend that much.
Once again there’s a cable that has a round end, and if you loose it then you’ve problems. I do wish more devices were simple USB connections, they are so easy to replace 😦

With practice you can make all sorts of things, and like most things the more you practice the better you get.
It really is easy to use, instructions are simple to follow so I had no issues working it.
My 6 year old youngest grandson is keen to try it when he’s here next. With younger children you will need to supervise as of course the “nib” does get very hot.

You will need to buy more filaments too, there’s a couple of reels provided to get you started but they don’t last long. They’re easy to find online, but again check you get the right type.
Its a fun gadget for kids and adults.

Stars: Four, I did feel having one button for all made it less easy to control, though I guess practice would sort that out. I would have liked a quicker respond to my emails about the first faulty pen.

3D Pen Filament, DIKI 20 PCS 1.75 MM PLA

3D Pen Filament, DIKI 20 PCS 1.75 MM PLA Best Pure Filament for 3D Printer Pen, 3D Printing or Modeling Stereoscopic Rapid Prototyping no Peculiar Smell with Total of 20 Different Colors

Sadly the second 3D printer I had for review wasn’t working, must have got damaged in transit – it happens. I’m waiting to hear back from sellers, but I had one a few weeks back so got that out and had a play around.
These are really fun devices, quick to use but do need lots of practice before you make anything like those shown in images !!

These are made of PLA plastic. I looked up online the difference between PLA and ABS, not knowing anything about them – there’s lots of info but this summary from website protoparadigm is perfect:
ABS – Its strength, flexibility, machinability, and higher temperature resistance make it often a preferred plastic for engineers, and professional applications. The hot plastic smell deter some as does the plastics petroleum based origin. The additional requirement of a heated print bed means there are some printers simply incapable of printing ABS with any reliability.
PLA – The wide range of available colors and translucencies and glossy feel often attract those who print for display or small household uses. Many appreciate the plant based origins and prefer the semi-sweet smell over ABS. When properly cooled, PLA seems to have higher maximum printing speeds, lower layer heights, and sharper printed corners. Combining this with low warping on parts make it a popular plastic for home printers, hobbyists, and schools.

So how did they perform?
Well, they were easy to melt, I made a couple of little 3D pieces…simple shapes rather than anything specific. The colours are good and bright and the yellow and green I used kept their colour well. They didn’t have an unpleasant smell, having looked up info in the two types I think the ones that came with the pen were ABS as they had a horrible plastic smell, and this PLA type is far preferable – for me that’s a huge plus, and of course environmentally these win out too.
The coils didn’t tangle and were easy to recoil after use. they come in sealed bags, PLA does absorb moisture according to what I’ve read so after use try and reseal and keep in a dry atmosphere – maybe with some of those silica gel bags?

A good selection of colours, a product that’s useful and well priced and a great starter kids for hobbyists.

Stars: Five, fun and easy to use.

handbag, messenger bag and evening bag

Aretha 141021 Signature Stub Italy Genuine Cowhide Leather Shoulder Tote Bag

Product Details

Well, this is a good looking bag, roomy enough for purse, phone, keys tissues and all the rest of the detritus that accumulates in most ladies handbags ( Guilty!!) and yet well made so it will stay looking good. I really like these bags and one I had earlier for review has become my main bag to use, that one has an added shoulder strap – my preferred way of carrying a bag. this one can be hooked over the shoulder which is fine for most people but I need my arms to push my wheelchair and bags don’t stay up then so I need the additional strap.

It comes in its own protective fabric bag, and that makes it look great as a gift. Its genuine leather – the other bag I had from this company had a weird smell at first but that went after a couple of weeks, thankfully this one doesn’t have any unpleasant aroma. It comes in three colours and I’ve the brown, which is a lovely rich van dyke kind of colour. It’s fully lined and has gold plated hardware, which is great for preventing tarnish, and contrast stitching.

The outside is a close grained leather and the inside is fully lined in brown – I don’t know if its brown or a different colour in the red and black bags, with good strong zips and easy to grip tags.
The handles are padded and large enough to fit over should so bag tucks under the arm.
Inside the interior is very roomy and well thought out, with two zipped compartments and two open pockets for phone and keys.

The pockets are on one side of the bag, with a small zipped section the other and then the main compartment is divided by a large, full length zipped pocket. Plenty of room for everything.
Design wise it has a V shaped section in the sides which allow it to be larger at the base, and makes room for all the “stuff” we find essential to carry…..phone, keys, purse, pens, tissues, hand wash, throat sweets or similar, lipstick or lip slave, painkillers, notepad or paper, nail; file and/or scissors, penknife and for me my beloved Kindle. That goes everywhere.
You can see why I need a large bag! Every now and then I junk and pare down what I need but then it gradually creeps back.

I would like to have seen studs on the base to prevent scuffing – they’re on the other bag I had and are really useful.

I’ve still got an old Radley leather bag bought maybe 20 years ago, and I see no reason why this one won’t last as well if properly looked after. Leather is such a forgiving material, and looked after can last years. A little scuffing only improves the look IMO – makes it that Vintage appearance!
I use a little leather dressing from time to time on mine after wiping off any dirt. If it gets wet simply allow to dry naturally, away from heat and it’ll be fine.

Stars: Five, perfect bag for work and leisure

Messenger Satchel bag for men and women,Vintage canvas real leather 14-inch Laptop Briefcase for everyday use 13″(L)x10.5″(H) x 4.1″(W)(Green) WowBox
Product Details

I really like the look and feel of this bag. Its a very retro feel, and the leather is incredibly soft when often on new bags its stiff and difficult to use. Back in the 70’s I had a leather satchel for school, the old two compartment, two buckle one and it took years to soften. I had it for the five years of high school, and wish I’d kept it but I was a bit sick of it then….

This bag is a heavy canvas and strong leather construction and the latches are magnetic, which is really useful in winter when fingers are freezing and struggling with zips and buckles can be awkward. The magnets are pretty strong too  so flaps won’t blow open easily.
There’s a strong carrying handle, with reinforced fixings, which is very comfortable to hold, and also a thick, wide canvas shoulder strap for carrying across chest, my preference for safety.
There are several pockets on the outside and inside, with some pockets being open, some are zippered, and some have magnetic closures.
The large main inside compartment will hold a small laptop computer or tablets and is fastened with Velcro and lightly padded for extra protection.
The front has two front pockets with the magnetic closers, and a zip pocket, handy for phone, keys and cash.
There are further inside pockets besides the laptop/tablet one, two medium size and two small ones perfect for pens and pencils.

Its a great all round, practical bag which should last well. I’d maybe add a little waterproofing on the canvas, and some leather dressing to keep the leather lovely and supple whatever the weather. Looked after it’ll last years, and with this sort of bag a little wear just adds to the vintage look and in my opinion improves it 😉

Stars: Five, great for school, college, uni or less formal workplaces.

Emour Nina Silver Crystal Diamond Evening Clutch Wedding Purse Party Prom Bag Box

Product Details

This bag comes  comes in a really smart red box, lined with tissue making for a perfect gift.
It’s in a choice of either gold or silver trim and I’ve the silver version.
I’ve recently done  reviews for several 1920’s style sequin and beaded dresses and this would work perfectly with it. I love it. Well, with my magpie all-things-sparkly-are-good quirk I would! My late friend Barbara used to call it my Bet Lynch tendencies.

Its got a beautiful diamante covered outer, with the crystals being in direct lines creating a very symmetrical, slightly formal  look and making it perfect to finish  the Art Deco look. Nan had a couple of bags like this from the 20s –30s.

Its fully lined, with a handy little pocket inside for items such as a card, a key or maybe a lipstick, easy to get at. Its got a simple clip top to open and close, also decorated with more crystals.
It can be used as a clutch but also has two chains included which clip on to convert to a handbag or a shoulder bag. I like those, keep hands free and I usually wear across my chest, though of course it could be hung from one shoulder.

Stars: Five, just gorgeous, great for cocktail evenings or xmas parties. and a terrific price.

Attractive backpack and a new gel nails dryer

YUHAN® Professional Portable SUN9S 24W LED UV Gel Lamp Nail Dryer,-Lumcrissy Auto Sensing Curing for Acrylic Gelish Shellac, LED UV Nail Gel with LCD Display, and Upgraded with Timer Setting,Nail Art, Painting, Salon Tools, compatible with Fingernail & Toenail [Support USB Charging Sun Light Technology More Safer than Traditional UV Nail Art Dryer] (White)

I discovered the world of gel nails last year when asked to review one of these. Never had mine done in a salon, but love nail varnish. Sadly I rarely used it as I found it chipped after just a day or so, I’m not a careful person.
Gel nails though are strong, and last ages and I’m addicted to them 🙂 I find with a base and top coat and two coats of colour they can easily last 10-14 days on hands, longer on feet.

Up to now I thought the last dryer was my favourite, it let me get my whole hand in (You’ll see in pics my rings turned upside down. I never remember to take them off and have no idea how UV affects the stones so I turn them round – will look it up one day !)
This dryer though is by far the best. Its roomy and so easy to use, just plug in and tuck hands under and the sensor picks them up, starts dryer and displays time in the top.

I don’t know about the difference in ultra violet banding, but I did notice that it dries far better and quicker. With my old lamp the gel stayed tacky between layers and the final coat was softish and I needed to be careful for a couple of hours after using. Not doing things like gardening, or rubbing hands dry on a towel- that sort of thing, not just normal use. With this the gel seems far harder much quicker – though as usual I still managed to smudge the corners on two fingers, but that could have been before they were placed in dryer – I just didn’t notice.
It seemed very quick, I gave base coats 30 seconds, colour 90 and top coat 90. To be honest timing is still something I’m working out, different sites say different times, but I’d rather go for a few seconds longer and be sure.

I was looking for an on switch, did try pressing the display etc til I realised you need to place your hand fully in for the sensor to pick up, not just finger tips. I like that I can get my whole hand in and not have to do thumbs separately, its when things take too long I get impatient and ruin the effect.
I’ve usually got my kindle on the go while I’m doing nails so its easier to be patient that way than if I was just waiting, doing nothing.

I don’t foresee any issues, but as always if there are I’ll update this review. I’m currently very pleased with how my nails look, and how the device performs an d its become my preferred choice dryer now.

Vintage Fashion Canvas Backpacks School Bags Casual Daypacks Laptop Backpack for High School Black

I really like the look of this backpack, with its patterned detailing. It comes in three different colour choices and is a roomy, attractive and practical bag.

As always with canvas its a good idea to use a waterproofing treatment on it if you’re going to be using it in wet weather. Its a pretty dense weave canvas, and does have what looks like a water resistant interior but extra always helps and wet canvas is heavy! Though its classed as a school bag its suitable for any age and a very attractive change from some of the more mundane ones around. Easier to find yours too if its in a pile with others.

Its a decent size and the interior opens out to fit lots in. I’ve friends who use backpacks instead of handbags and they’re always ready for impromptu purchases that way!
Its got two outer pockets for drinks ect, a large zipped outer compartment and the roomy interior which has padded section for electricals plus others for pens, books, phone and keys etc.
It has a carry handle or adjustable shoulder straps. Both the shoulder straps and the actual back of the bag are padded and have mesh helping to avoid sweating and making it comfortable to carry even when full of books etc.
The fabric feels very strong, that water resistant looking interiors will be useful if it is – I’ll try that out sometime –and the stitching and zips look pretty robust and up to some rough treatment – we all know how schoolbags especially get thrown around and dropped rather than careful treatment 😉

I really like the look of this bag, it marries practicality with an attractive appearance. The contrast fabric really lifts the design, and I’m sure this will soon be claimed by one of the family.

Stars: Five, an attractive and roomy bag.

Food containers and a pop up tent/cabana

Food Storage Containers,Bellaware Extra Large Plastic Airtight Food Storage Containers, with 4 Small Containers, Set of 5 (Rectangular)

This set comes in three choices, I’ve the one large and four smaller equal size combo but you can also have a stacking size combo in square or rectangular.

They’re pretty simple, snap lock containers in food grade plastic, useable in freezer or microwave ( but Not conventional ovens!) and dishwasher safe- poor me- I don’t have one of these but they clean easily by hand. They are guaranteed leak-proof, very essential when you’re travelling. I’ve tried that and its correct. the rubber seal inside seems to stop any leakage.

I’m using a couple of the smaller ones for raw meat in freezer right now having stuck a sticky label on so I know what’s in them.
They’re also useful for leftovers in fridge, for keeping raw meat apart from other items ( essential for food safety and to avoid poisoning) Use the big one to keep bread fresh, or to store cakes and biscuits ( not together…doesn’t do either any favours) and the small ones for different fruits and veg, to make salads such as pasta and rice for lunches, for sandwiches for kids to take to school.
They’re easy to open, just flick up sides and easy to close in the same way.
For people such as me with hand issues its perfect, usual ones mean trying to prise up a corner and I just cant do it.
Having had similar ones in past I know the seals last ages, but do take care to ensure that part washed well if you’re washing by hand.

They are expensive – that’s all I’m going to say about price. I’ve seen cheaper ones, whether they are as good, last as long I don’t know.
Ultimately its your choice, bearing in mind my nan’s old adage of “cheap always comes dear in the end” – she died in 1960 though, and cheap has taken on a new concept since then, and it is possible to get bargains, but equally possible to do what she warned against, buy cheap, find it doesn’t last and end up spending more than if you’d bought decent stuff in the first place.
Nan would have one quality item, mum went on the quantity rather than quality motto. Having grown up with both I find I side with nan, have less but have quality.

Stars: Five, perfect air and liquid tight containers.
Multicolor Automatic Pop Up Beach Tent- UV 50+ Protection Portable Outdoor Tent,Kids Play Tent,Sun Shelter For Outdoor and Indoor Use- Fits up to 2 Adults + Kids+ Free Shoes Bags

This is great for the beach, its very light and easy to carry, and it comes in a circular, zipped bag, same washable fabric as the tent. Comes in five colours so if the kids all want their own, no confusion.

This has some UV protection on the fabric ( description says Special silver coated fabric around the full coverage to ensure that the coverage area of Anti-UV effects.50+) which is useful especially if you’ve babies or toddlers. Their skin is so delicate and vulnerable. I’d still slather them in a high factor cream though and use this as additional protection not instead of creams and lotions. The whole of the interior is coated in this silver covering.
It has four metal pegs to help secure it in the ground. Being lightweight means it will blow away easily if its a breezy day, but the pegs will hopefully hold it. The mesh section at the back helps too, by letting air through and that also  helps keep inside cooler. Given its larger than others I’ve had though and they are so lightweight I think six, or even 8 pegs would be better. Others have pockets for sandbags too which helps keep the tent stable. We’ve some pretty fierce winds on the beach at times and these are little extras that can make  a huge difference. I’ve taken a star off as I do think this large size needs more. You can of course put some beach stones in but a little though first would make that necessary.

The real fun is the way it assembles, just take it out of the zipped pouch and it does just what it says, pop up. Stand well back though, especially younger children and its very quick! Putting it away takes a bit of practice but if you keep in mind it kind of folds into a figure 8 then over, then it takes just seconds to fold and zip back in back.

It is so light and easy to carry that it means its so easy to take it with you on a beach trip, on a picnic, a trip to the woods so for younger kids you’ve an instant play tent.
Its a great place for snacks too, a clean floor to sit on, no dirt to get in sandwiches, fruit or cakes, and helps prevent flies and wasps getting in. They’re quite scary for young kids when they buzz round food so this is a great bonus, especially if you put a trap such as a pot of sugar water outside to divert them.
If you’ve toddlers and babies it gives a shady place for them to nap too.

Youngest grandson Brennan will love this on the beach, he loves being there but has very sensitive skin, often has patches of eczema that gets irritated by the sand, so at least he can rinse it off and sit inside while eating or to rest his skin for a while.
Of course its a great play tent in the garden, or inside if you’ve the space. We’ve three pop up tents now (four with this one) and the grandkids love to get them all out and play houses, shops, vets etc giving them each a specific designation. Then when its time top pack away five minutes and everything’s done!

Stars: Four, great fun for kids and practical for the beach, extra attention to securing and this would be a five.

Wireless keyboard and mouse , Outdoor clock

Lsmore 2.4G Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Set Combo for Desktop Compact 386.35*119.52*25.8mm Dimension Black

Product Details

I love my kindle fire for quick connection and lookups but for main browsing, ordering, writing its my old desktop PC that gets used all the while. I’ve got a Logitech ergonomic keyboard, I love it but everyone else hates it….its noisy though so this one, billed as whisper quite keys was intriguing.

I found it quite hard to use, because its so different to my curved and shaped one- you get used to what you use frequently though and if I stuck with this new one I’m sure I’d soon pick it up.
As it is its now my spare, for when the kids stay, to stop them groaning about mine! I’ve had wireless keyboards and mice for many years now and don’t know why anyone still uses wired ones, these are so much more convenient.

The keyboard is a traditional shaped one, sleek and thin, especially compared to my current one, and the keys were far, far quieter than mine, though perhaps “whisper quiet” is a little too much to describe them. Its attractive and comes in four colours. I have the black, with a smart light blue contrast writing.
The mouse is simple and easy to use and hold. It moves around easily and its very, very quick and responsive.
My tower sites beside my desk so range wasn’t tested, but as soon as I took receiver out of the rear of the mouse and plugged, and switched on the keyboard and mouse, they were ready to use.
Nothing else to do, no programmes to download and run, no dvds to insert and read, just a real “plug and play” set. I wish all PC stuff was like thins *sigh* its so so easy.

Batteries were included ( hurrah, saves all that searching and disappointment when you find you haven’t got the right ones), as was a handy dustcover for the keyboard.

Double Sided Clocks Ailiebhaus Antique European-style Garden Station Clock Outdoor Wall Clock

This is a really attractive clock, reminds me so much of those ones that used to be in railway stations, and is perfect in a garden like mine, large and rambling with a very old stone house.

Its very sturdy, feels well made and simply unlatches at the side to reveal two standard clock connectors inside each half. They need batteries ( not supplied ) so check that when you order this. Add the batteries, set the clock manually, hang up and job done.
The only comment I can make is I’d have like to have seen a rubber seal around where the two halves close, without it, it can let moisture in though it won’t touch the clock parts.
It comes in a rich warm brown with a creamy “old” looking clock face.
The display is clear and easy to read, and this would look perfect in many gardens. The clock face swivels round so that you can set it in the garden and wherever you are in relation to it you should be able to see the time without moving too far.
The brackets are the wrought iron type and match the clock really well, both in colour and style.

It only comes in brown, but that’s a perfect colour for it, I can’t imagine it in another colour…

Stars: Five. Perfect gift for gardeners

solar wind lights, solar ball lights and a remote control wall climbing car!!

I love anything solar powered for the garden, just switch on, put in place and forget. What could be simpler?

Gernanery Colour-Changing LED Solar Powered Wind-lights Hummingbird Wind Chimes for Outdoor Garden Décor

Product Details

These are incredibly pretty, though calling them wind chimes is a bit of a misnomer, they don’t chime but are well worth the money as they are visually stunning.
If you want chimes you could try handing a few metal or wood tubes under the birds maybe, but for me these are just perfect as the are. I’ve other chimes to add sound.

The set comprises six pretty little humming birds on cords that hang from the central circular solar panel.
I’ve got mine tucked among my pots on the patio and hanging from a large metal hook.
The birds are made from a pretty, rigid, acrylic type material, looks like glass but less prone to shatter. With outdoor things that hang loosely like this and can get knocked that’s important.
I thought the birds would just rotate colours, with them all having the same at the same time. That’s not so, they do rotate colours but each changes individually, so they really look fabulous and are a genuine eye catcher in the dark of the night.
Dephen Solar LED Globe String Lights, Set of Solar Outdoor 20ft 30 LED White Frosted Ball Fairy Christmas Lights Waterproof Lights for Garden Party Wedding New Year Outdoor Decoration

Product Details

This set have the usual, a green wire with lights, attached to charger/battery, and a stake for placing charger into ground. The back has the off/on and a mode button to change from always on to flashing. I do find with these buttons its not easy to tell if working, and I don’t want to go trundling round the garden in the dark fiddling. What I usually do is take them under a table/into a cupboard, place something like a thick cloth against the front of the charger and they should light up, giving you a chance to see they work and to choose the mode.

The lights themselves are a set of pretty frosted white balls, which gives a clear cool toned light as soon as it gets dark, lasting well into the early hours at this time of year when the sun is strong. They also come in a warm white and a coloured option.
Winter I find they don’t last as long but still work for several hours, and its just cheering at night when i can’t sleep to peek out at them. Its very dark where I live, very rural, no nearby lights of any kind so they show up well.

They do need to be charged for 6 hours or more before first use, so don’t expect them to glow straight from the box, although sometimes they have a weak charge.
Look at where to place charger so it doesn’t get overshadowed by grass, plants or trees. I’ve found they also work inside if you place charger in a sunny windowsill.

They’re designed for outdoor use so perfect to just hang round garden and leave – that’s what I do. Eventually they all die off, but that’s true of everything, so long as they last a decent time I’m happy.
TONOR 4CH Remote Control RC Wall Climbing Climber Rocket Toy Car Racer Black

5 year old Brennan was be chief tester. He loves toy testing, takes his part in reviewing very seriously.
This is the second car like this, he’s still playing with the first one which we got back in
April this year.

The packaging was good, its in a card display box and the car and remotes held in with wire twists that were easy to undo. Finally we persuaded him to hand the car and remote over and help put in batteries – not supplied, you need six AA ones for the remote so check you have them when you order. Nothing is more frustrating for kids than having a new toy and no batteries!! Actually its frustrating for adults too 😉 Once the batteries were in he put it on the floor, used the remote and it was off, careering across kitchen floor madly, flashing lights and then being out into spins and reverse. When we actually got to read the manual – well, does anyone read it before playing? really? – I saw how to get it to go on walls. Sadly our walls are old, very rough and papered with a textured surface, and though it was fine in living room it wouldn’t work in dining room.

Our house is very old though and the walls very rough, hence the paper which is textured, so its not surprising the car wasn’t happy. It works by way of air+ the plastic sheet around the base. I can’t explain more but hopefully from photos you can work it out? Bren and his older brother and sister, and dad – me too – had fun with this, and he took it home where they’ve got nice newish plastered and painted walls where it works better. My ceilings are all textured so again we couldn’t try that but I don’t see why it won’t work.

The car feels very flimsy as its so light, but it felt off walls a few times and was fine so its more robust that appearance would suggest. You need to hold it on the wall to start, but as soon as it moves then its fine on its own. Its been great fun and for something relatively cheap I’m very impressed by it. Bren loves the lights too – adds to the all round fun effect. The first one (identical to this) is still going well despite frequent travelling from my hone to his – 35 miles away.

The car is charged by a USB cable but as with so many of these toys its got a different end, not the mini USB type, but one of those with a circle, so ensure you put it in a safe place. I wish these cables were all standard, it reminds me of the early mobile phone days when each had different chargers, and were a pain to charge, needing to have its own cable taken everywhere – now with them mostly standardised its so much easier. Come on manufacturers, do the same with kids toys please. We’ve so many where they’re useless as chargers been lost.

YYWING Women’s Summer Blouses, Loose Neck, Cuffed Sleeve Blouse, Shirts, Tops

Product Details

Pretty blouse, nice design, hangs well and the fabric is excellent, a lovely soft feel chiffon, though it does seem to crease easily. Still, life’s too short to worry over creases 🙂
I’m fussy about fabrics but love the feel of this. Its perfect for warm days or for layering under jumpers or cardis on cooler ones. It comes in six colours and I’ve the grey one.

The V neck is flattering to most people, and the sleeves can be worn long or looped up and held with the metal clips by the elbows.
The bottom is shaped and hangs a little longer at the back making it perfect for me sitting all the while in a wheelchair.
Sizing good – XXXL  given as size 18, I have that and am size 16-18 and its perfect.

Stars: Five, lovely top for summer and winter.

Anlarach Men’s Breathable Mesh Slip On Loafers, Summer Sport Running Shoes, Walk, Exercise ,Athletic Sneakers

Product Details

A really light weight summer shoe, perfect for beach and anywhere with water.

The soles have good grips and are quite thick and sturdy, and the uppers are in a fine mesh fabric so very breathable and quick to dry. If you’re somewhere where its hot and your feet get a bit sweaty this will keep them as dry as possible, so no stinky feet when you remove shoes ( very important for everyone when its teenage boys – they seem to have an odour all of their own when it comes to feet !!)

If you’re out doing water sports they’re great too, soles will grip and they’ll just dry on your feet really quickly. As they’re so lightweight they are great for taking on holiday, being both comfortable and practical. They feel like they’d be great for a long day of walking too.

They come in three colours, we have the black ones.

Stars: Five, great for beach and water sports, or holidays

Review from Jeannie’s Reviews on wordpress.com

I really like the look and feel of this bag. Its a very retro feel, and the leather is incredibly soft when often on bags its stiff and difficult to use.

The bag is a heavy canvas and strong leather construction and the latches are magnetic, which is really useful in winter when fingers are freezing and struggling with zips and buckles can be awkward.

Stars: Five, great for school, college, uni or less formal workplaces.

jasmine flower tea ball, Mermaid Tail Blanket, unusual bath “mat”

16 Handmade Blooming Jasmine Flower Hi Tea Flowering Green Tea Ball Home Wedding Favour

16 Handmade Blooming Jasmine Flower Hi Tea Flowering Green Tea Ball Home Wedding Favor

I’ve seen these advertised before and they look so pretty but I’ve never tried any. I’m not a great tea drinker, coffee mostly or ordinary PG tips type occasionally but sometimes I like a change and have enjoyed ones like ginger and lemongrass, nettle and blackberry and blackcurrant or similar.
I remember many years ago – about 50 – when stuff like this was considered “hippy” and only available from health food shops I tried some rose hip but put milk and sugar in it…eurghh…now I have them with a little sugar if needed but no milk 🙂

Well, I’ve not got a glass teapot and this needs to be fully appreciated so I used a glass cafetiere. Put the ball in, added boiling water and left. The ball gradually unfolds and is so pretty, its a real conversation piece. The tea tastes very delicate, I had to put sugar in as it seemed bitter to me without, but that’s taste and I have sugar in ordinary tea. I let it steep for about 5 mins but even after 15 or so it still wasn’t “stewed” tasting, but fresh and light.
Its something that would be special after a romantic meal, or with an afternoon tea treat. ( I tried violet tea out for a high tea with friends earlier this year. Decided I like to look and smell violets rather than drink them…)

Its 100% natural so no additives, and of course green tea is supposed to be very good for you.
I don’t think you’d want to drink this daily as its a little expensive for that but for a treat, for a special tea with friends, and as a gift its just perfect. of course you may feel you’re worth a daily treat and compared to a box of cigarettes these are so much cheaper and good for you. try this as a stress reliever instead.

They come individually wrapped in pretty red and gold cellophane parcels, so each one stays fresh. You could hang them as xmas decorations with a difference, use as home made cracker gifts, wedding or party favours, any special occasion.

Stars: Five, gorgeous to look at , delicate to drink and a real treat.

Yowao Mermaid Tail Blanket with Fish-scale Pattern – All Seasons Knitted Blanket, Sleeping Bag, 190x90cm (74.86″x35.46″) (Blue Lake)

This is great fun and perfect for snuggling on cold winter days. Not just for kids but for adults too.
Its so big that I tucked my feet ( foot!) in and it still reaches up to my neck. Roxy approves too – she soon snuggled her doggy body on it!
The “tail” section stops partway so you can spread the top section right round and really snuggle in. Beth and Bren tried it – room for them both there but Bren decided it was a bit girly…

Its made of polyester, feels like a very soft acrylic type wool, and its thicker than I thought it would be.
The scales are a nice touch, actually woven into the pattern and raised adding texture, and the tail is a kind of ribbed pattern.
I’ve seen lots of mermaid blankets recently, but not many feature this scales pattern and it just gives an extra touch and feeling of something a bit different from just a snuggly blanket. Snuggle in and dream of summer days on the beach.

It says hand wash, but as readers of my reviews know I hate doing that, life is far too short, so I’d put it in a cool wool wash or similar, and I’d probably hang over airer or radiator if the weather is not nice enough to hang outside. I might even put it in the dryer! I can’t see that would be an issue. Polyester is a tough fabric. Ultimately its your choice, whether you want to risk it shrinking or play safe 🙂

Stars: Five, a thick and fun extra cosy for winter days.

MOBIE Extra Long Non Slip Absorbent Diatomite Bath Mats & Rugs Mould & Mildew Resistant, Easy To Clean Hard Duckboard [Energy Class A+++]

MOBIE Extra Long Non Slip Absorbent Diatomite Bath Mats & Rugs Mold & Mildew Resistant, Easy To Clean Hard Duckboard

Well, bath mats are always useful, and when i saw this for review I didn’t read the full listing..just said yes please. So when this heavy, solid parcel arrived I was astonished. What could it be?
I wasn’t really wiser when I opened it til I saw the info included and realised This was my “bath mat”!!

Its incredible though, no more soggy smelly mats that get left on the floor, just put one of these down, step on and that’s it.
No slipping, its got great grip for feet and dries within minutes, no need to hang to dry, no need to run through washing machine.

Its perfect for bathrooms where anyone is like me a bit unsteady on their feet (foot!) and at risk of slipping on conventional mats.
Its great if you hate having soggy mats in the bathroom, they take ages to dry, need washing frequently and if they’re a bit damp when you get out of the shower as someone else has been there just before you, they feel horrible, all clammy and icky. This though is dry each time and feels kind of warmish to touch, room temp rather than a cold slab, and its so easy to clean.. Just rinse periodically under the tap and that’s it.
It does say you may need to lightly rub surface with a little glass-paper – and that’s supplied too – if it stops being quite so absorbent. I assume that because of grease/residue from skin maybe coats the surface? That’s simple enough to do though.

Though its for bathrooms, its useful by kitchen sinks if you don’t have a dishwasher and water gets spilled when you’re washing/drying plates etc.
I’ve got it under Roxy’s water bowl, it’s great for stopping the constant slops of water around it when she drinks. I then wheel through them and my wheelchair spreads it, plus the dirt from wheels over the floor.
Since I’ve put this down its been perfect.

Stars: Five, effective and practical mat
